We assess and treat young people aged up to 18 years who have mental health related concerns. These might range from depression and associated symptoms to eating disorders and self-harm. Each client has their own caseworker working alongside them and their whānau to provide intensive support. A dedicated worker can also work with those who also have alcohol and drug related problems. Support may include counselling, education and assistance with medication or whānau therapy.

Staff are based at the Rangatahi Youth Service in Devon St West and at the Tui Ora site in Hawera.

This service is available for children from 0-18 years of age who are experiencing signs of mental unwellness. This service is available to children from any ethnicity.
Our service will complete an assessment with child and whānau to ensure that we are able to provide treatment and support.

Referrer Feedback

A letter of acknowledgement is sent to referrer and referee on receipt of referral.
A letter to advise discharge is sent to referrer when treatment/ support is completed.
The relevant whānau and referrer is included in the support/treatment process.
