This programme is designed to provide communities, groups and whānau across Taranaki with opportunities to improve regular physical activity and increase their knowledge of healthy eating. We provide education sessions, policy development and physical activity programmes such as Fit4Life. We work with other services on new initiatives in response to requests from the community.

Regular hui with client and service provider to monitor behaviour change with further intervention to be recommended where necessary.

Other Details

Staff are required to walk the talk with clients ie also participate in nutrition and physical activities incentives.

Enhancing our existing services by providing on-going learning opportunities for staff while dealing with clients that are ready to change their behaviour.

Clients MUST be at a ready to change stage in their lives – this is most important.

Nutrition and PA coordinator will walk along side staff member and client until it is ascertained that client is comfortable to continue behaviour change without Nutrition and physical activities assistance.
