Piki Te Ora Nursing Services Limited

Established in November 1999 Piki Te Ora is affiliated to Tui Ora and became a Quality Health accredited provider in 2008. The Piki Te Ora office is based at Maru Wehi Hauora Complex, 36 Maratahu Street, Westown, New Plymouth. Piki Te Ora offers a mobile Primary Health Care nursing service to the Taranaki community. All services are delivered in the home, at marae, Te Kohunga and community clinic settings.

The nurses and kaiawhina/health workers provide health education and early intervention programmes, as well as specialist clinical assessments which include client case management and monitoring. Specialty focus areas are chronic care management specific to adult Maori with diabetes, cardiac and lung problems; tamariki ora / well child services which include B 4 schools checks; asthma education; outreach immunisation follow up service; cervical smear taking; Cancer case management/ advocacy; Youth HEADD assessments; smoking cessation programmes. Promotion services offered are dental enrolments; ACC Community Access Programme; Kid Safe Programme and Cervical Screening.
