Te Whare Puawai o te Tangata Established in July 1996 to provide a meaningful activity (Recovery Centre) programme, and a voluntary supported accommodation service to nga tangata whaiora. The organisation extended services over the next years to include contracted supported accommodation, a community assessment/treatment nurse, and two early intervention first time psychosis nurses. Te Whare Puawai provides other mental health services and is situated in the Barrett Street Complex, New Plymouth.
