We assess and treat pregnant mothers or those who have given birth and have experienced mental unwellness, serious mental health problems or alcohol or drug addiction.
The perinatal period covers pregnancy (antenatal) and the year after the birth (postnatal). This is a time when women are at increased risk of developing more common mental health conditions including depression and anxiety, as well as the less common conditions namely bipolar disorder or puerperal psychosis.
We liaise with whānau to develop comprehensive care plans as well as linking with other services related to mental health and addiction.
