Taiohi Ora Youth Wellness is a new service that aims to empower our taiohi (young people) and help them build confidence and resilience through various short term interventions.

Designed as a strength based service, it's intended to build emotional and behavioural resilience in a positive way.  Eligible for young people aged 12-18 years who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues.  A pilot has been launched in a Taranaki intermediate and high schools.  For further information contact Tui Ora 06 759 4064 or see the newsletters below.

Who is this service for?

Taiohi Ora is for:

  • Taranaki taiohi aged 12-18
  • Those experiencing distress as a result of bullying, grief/loss, trauma, relationship difficulties and stress/pressure
  • Those experiencing mild - moderate mental health including anxiety, depression, self harm or suicidal ideation
  • Young people experiencing low mood due to chronic illness or medical conditions

Referrer Feedback

A letter of acknowledgement is sent to referrer and referee on receipt of referral.
A letter to advise discharge is sent to referrer when treatment/ support is completed.
The relevant whānau and referrer is included in the support/treatment process.
