- Support whānau to plan for the future with pathway plans
Our staff called kaiārahi, kaiāwhina and kai hāpai work with a whole whānau to address different aspects of health and wellbeing. They are navigators/advocates who support individuals within a whānau to address a range of issues including education, housing, transport, budgeting and health. There is emphasis on pathway planning - supporting the whānau to plan for the future, set goals, make changes and advance their aspirations.
Staff in the team have knowledge of different health and social services, ensuring they can support holistically and advocate for people in a variety of ways. Read here about the work of two of our staff who have completed their Whānau Ora diploma qualification.
The kai hāpai role is specific to the Whānau Hāpai service and is available to families who have a child aged between 0-5 years in their care, with a willingness to make long-term change and address issues to better their life.
