This programme focuses on improving healthy eating and increased physical activity for under-5’s and their whānau. The Oranga Mokopuna programme has been designed to support early childhood education centres (kohanga reo, kindergarten, day-care centres, kopae) to promote and improve the health and wellbeing of whānau who are involved in early childhood education.
The Oranga Mokopuna team offer professional development to staff and whānau and deliver presentations in New Plymouth and Hawera focusing on nutrition, active movement and breastfeeding.
This programme is delivered in collaboration with other providers such as Sport Taranaki, Plunket, TDHB Public Health Unit, Heart Foundation and kohanga reo.
