Our Community Cancer Support Nurse provides education, support and guidance to people awaiting diagnosis or diagnosed with cancer. Read about her support here. This free, mobile service is available throughout Taranaki to all age groups. It includes access to a kaiāwhina for added support to family/whānau in their time of need. There is priority for Māori and high needs clients who face barriers to receiving adequate service.
Our focus is assisting clients and their family/whānau to manage their condition. We walk alongside people, helping them understand their diagnosis, their medication and any related procedures. We work closely with client’s wider networks such as doctors, practice nurses, and other health professionals. We also make referrals to other services and agencies as required.
