This morning was a special occasion as Labour MP Glen Bennett visited our morning karakia to thank Tui Ora for our response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Glen said that the mahi undertaken by our organization was literally the difference between life and death for some of our whānau and thanked the entire organization on behalf of Prime Minister Chris Hipkins for our response at the height of the pandemic.
Kaihautu Tapuhi/Clinical Nurse Leader Robyn Taylor accepted a framed certificate on behalf of Tui Ora Family Health and our vaccination team. Former Whānau Ora GM, Tamara Ruakere accepted a certificate on behalf of Service Delivery acknowledging the huge joint effort between these two parts of Tui Ora that were critical to our Covid response. Practice Nurse, Nicole Brisco and Project Coordinator, Lisa Zame accepted medals and flowers to acknowledge their particular contribution to the cause, going over and above on behalf of our whānau.
Many thanks to all of our kaimahi who have supported Covid-19 effort. The whakataukī quoted by Glen today pretty much sums it up:
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini
Success is not the work of an individual, but the work of many
Glen also used the opportunity to get up to date with his vaccinations getting a flu jab in the right arm and a Covid booster in the left
