Who can use this service?

This service is designed for Taranaki whānau wanting to overcome drug and/or alcohol addiction.

More:

Mātanga Tāutoko Ā Aropā is addiction recovery support delivered by peers with lived experience of addiction and recovery. They walk alongside tāngata whaiora (people seeking health) and awhi them with support to strengthen their wairua, self-worth and resilience and educating and encouraging them to conquer from within and create autonomy.

What you can expect

Our community-based alcohol and drug recovery experts support whānau with:

  • Addiction assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Clinical referrals
  • Drug and alcohol counselling
  • Problem solving, goal setting and relapse prevention
  • Community integration support
  • Harm reduction
  • Referrals to residential treatment services
  • Continuing AOD education and support
  • Whānau centred support
  • Mātanga Tāutoko Ā Aropā — Peer support based in lived experience

This is a free service

for Taranaki whānau.

You can access this service

at all our Tui Ora locations – Ngāmotu, Waitara, Hawera and Ōpunakē.
